Providence is calling a Staffing Coordinator (Full time/Night Shift) at Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center in Tarzana, CA.

We are seeking a Staffing Coordinator who will be responsible for developing and maintaining staffing schedules for nursing services department and maintaining all related records.
In this position you will:
Promote patient, physician and employee satisfaction by personal example, treating all contacts with respect
Support and participate in activities that foster customer service
Communicate and follow the organizational chain of command for notification of patient care/service issues, when appropriate
Maintain required applicable licensure, certification and education
Attend and successfully complete general and department orientation, in-service programs and the annual key competencies and mandatory update requirements
Participate actively in department staff meetings
Demonstrats mastery of verbal and written communications
Maintain the staffing system according to policies and procedures and as directed. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, safety, environmental and infection control standards
Provide adequate staff of nursing personnel for all shifts through the development, preparation, and maintenance of staffing schedules that meet hospital needs and apply to variable census conditions
Utilize the Patient Classification System to establish acuity projections to the start of each shift for all inpatient-nursing areas. Refers to established unit-staffing patterns to determine minimum staffing requirements for each nursing classification and work status for each unit, based on 24-hour coverage
Maintain current roster of nursing personnel and contact information
Consult with Clinical Coordinators, Nurse Managers, Directors, and Administrative Supervisors when determining unit-staffing needs. Assigns personnel on duty in their assigned unit and makes adjustments for special requests and/or unusual circumstances
Communicate and follow the organizational chain of command for notification of service issues when appropriate
Maintain contract nursing staff records; assures compliance with regulatory requirements for information such as license/certification expiration dates
Under the guidance of the specific nursing department manager, the Staffing coordinator adjusts, when necessary, staffing to meet needs and to provide adequate coverage of each unit
Demonstrate knowledge of age specific care for the neonate through geriatric population, including but not limited to identifying the need for additional safety measures; as well as communicates effectively in a clear, concise, understandable manner
Maintain all records for MD privileging/temporary privileges, sick calls, floating/flexing off records and schedule changes
Current LA City Fire Card within 30 days of hire
2 years Recent secretarial or clerical experience in an acute setting
Ability to use computer systems and related applications
