Providence is calling a per diem/on-call, Variable shift PBX/Telephone Operator to Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center in Tarzana, California.
We are seeking a PBX/Telephone Operator who will be responsible for greeting, assisting, and directing visitors, patients and other hospital callers in a prompt and courteous manner. Answer and direct all incoming and departmental calls.
In this position you will:
Answer telephones, route calls, take messages and provide routine information to callers.
Maintains knowledge of various hospital emergency procedures/plans and codes and has the ability to implement those plans/codes according to hospital policy.
Never leaves work station unattended.
Must obtain verbal acknowledgment from other departments when board is switched over to the other department for breaks and meal periods.
Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance and safety standards.
Contacts staff members over the central paging system as requested and according to hospital policy.
Relays patient room numbers to appropriate individuals according to hospital policy.
Contacts on-call personnel as needed according to hospital policy.
Maintains department records, reports and files as required.
Performs a variety of clerical functions while keeping patient confidentiality and satisfaction as a priority.
Demonstrates willingness & ability to float to areas within their scope of practice as necessary.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Minimal keyboarding experience
Current LA City Fire Card within 30 days of hire
