Providence is calling a Medical Staff Coordinator (Full-Time/Day Shift) to Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center in Tarzana, CA.
We are seeking a Medical Staff Coordinator who will be reporting to the Manager of Medical Staff Services, this position is responsible for coordinating the administrative support services for the medical staff and medical staff leadership.
In this position you will:
Promote patient, physician, customer and employee satisfaction by personal example, treating all contacts with respect.
Support and participate in activities that foster customer service.
Communicate and follow the organizational chain of command for notification of patient care/service issues, when appropriate.
Maintain required applicable licensure, certification and education.
Attend and successfully completes general and department orientation, in-service programs and the annual key competencies and mandatory update requirements.
Participate actively in department staff meetings
Demonstrate effective verbal and written communications.
Communicate effectively in a clear, concise, understandable manner. Applicable for the populations: Adult and Geriatric.
Coordinate the processing of medical/ahp staff applications/appointments and prepares them for routing. Assures that all information is complete and all questions answered prior to submission to the Medical Staff.
Maintain close communication with Director of Medical Staff Services, Medical Staff Manager, Medical Staff Leaders, Nursing, and Administration to ensure efficient processing of recommendations and correspondence.
Prepare agendas, accurate and complete minutes, and appropriate follow-up, in a timely manner for Medical Staff Departmental and Committee meetings. Assures that follow-up is sent in a timely manner and dated appropriately.
Maintain a working knowledge of requirements impacting position such as Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, JCAHO, CMA, and Title 22, Departmental Policies and Procedure requirements and makes every effort to ensure compliance
Facilitate and timely completes the proctoring process of all new members of the medical and ahp staff as well as for physicians granted additional privileges in accordance with Medical Staff Bylaws/Rules and Regulations requirements.
Assist in providing coordination in planning and development for assurance of compliance with Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, Policies and Procedures, JCAHO, and Title 22
Maintain confidentiality of departmental and committee minutes and physician credential files as well as overall confidentiality of information in accordance with bylaws, rules and regulations, policies and procedures and all regulatory standards.
Demonstrate willingness & ability to float to areas within their scope of practice as necessary
Required qualifications for this position include:
Current LA City Fire Card within 90 days of hire.
Three (3) years in Medical Staff Office with knowledge of current JCAHO/CMA/Title 22 Requirements as well as basic Medical Staff Services Professional Standards of Conduct in handling of medical staff matters.
Knowledge of word processing equipment including Microsoft Word, and Credentialing System.
Ability to professionally compose letters & memorandums.
Ability to take fast notes or shorthand.
