Providence is calling a Boiler Engineer (Full time/Day shift) to Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center in Tarzana, CA.
We are seeking Boiler Engineer who will be responsible for assisting in the performance of duties necessary to keep the physical structure and associated equipment of hospital in good repair. Minor electrical work, mechanical repairs and other duties relating to maintenance are the primary duties.
In this position you will:

Support and participate in activities that foster customer service
Communicate and follow the organizational chain of command for notification of patient care/service issues, when appropriate
Maintain required applicable licensure, certification and education
Attend and successfully complete general and department orientation, in-service programs and the annual key competencies and mandatory update requirements
Participate actively in department staff meetings
Demonstrate effective verbal and written communications
Communicate effectively in a clear, concise, understandable manner. Applicable for the populations: Adult and Geriatric
Operate, maintain, inspect and perform repairs to high pressure steam boilers and high temperature hot water boilers and all associated equipment including, expansion tanks, hot water pumps, valves, steam traps, water softener treatment systems
Test boiler water TDS and blows down boiler as required. Test boiler feed water ensuring all established parameters are met documenting results. Make and documents adjustments as necessary to ensure compliance
Test low water cut out and alarm, document and communicate results to Engineering Supervisor
Operate, maintain, inspect and make minor repairs to HVAC equipment including chillers, pumps, air handlers, fan coil units, package units and all related mechanical, electrical or pneumatic control instruments and safety devices
Maintain daily logs of plant operations and record maintenance repairs or alterations to equipment as required
Perform corrective, routine and requisitioned repairs of electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems as required
As required, assist in maintaining electrical wiring and emergency generator systems. Inspect and test equipment/systems
Perform preventative maintenance duties to all physical structures of hospital and comply with all building safety codes. This is to include facility equipment and associated controls
Assist in replacing, installing, repairing and testing electrical circuits, equipment, appliances and lighting systems as required
Maintain routine records of all inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs performed on any equipment or system
Perform manual duties as requested (i.e. moving supplies or furniture, replacing light bulbs, removing trash or scrap material)
Read blueprints and interprets instructions
Make daily rounds of all departments and performs repairs as needed. In addition, makes daily rounds of facility and replaces light bulbs as needed
Demonstrate willingness & ability to float to areas within their scope of practice as necessary
Los Angeles County Boiler Operator License and/or Steam Engineer License (500 HP or Unlimited HP) required
Current LA City Fire Card within 30 days of hire
Related trade school
2 years in a Health Care related environment
